The Franke Center’s Youth Theater is pleased to announce auditions for its production of Legally Blonde the Musical on November 18, 19 and 20 at The Franke. A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances – this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!
There is a $10 registration fee (non-refundable) to audition. Registration is only available online through TheFranke.org. Everyone is required to bring a current, non-returnable photo. If cast, there is an additional participation fee of $100 for each selected cast member. Scholarships available.
Auditions will take place at The Franke at 214 East Mansion Street, Marshall, MI 49068.
All students must prepare 16-32 bars of music that best showcases their voice and a one-minute monologue. The song selected must be provided in advance as a digital track with no vocals. No materials will be provided in advance.
Audition dates and times:
Monday, November 18 – Learning Day, 5:00-7:00pm. Students will learn music and choreography from the show, as well as do some acting exercises.
Tuesday, November 19 – Audition Day, 5:00-8:00pm. Students will sing their chosen song and perform their monologue. They will also showcase the choreography they learned the day prior. Please be prepared to stay the entire time.
Wednesday, November 20 – Call backs, 4:00-7:00pm. Students will be notified if they are needed.
Rehearsals start Monday, January 6 (Monday through Friday from 5-7pm. Some longer rehearsals will be scheduled and possible Saturdays will be needed).
Show dates February 13-16, 2023 (Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2:30pm).
